CommbotPhoto trial before swap
Swap closes a store's weakest product and puts a hit candidate in its place. Some products show up in search but are not clicked; the problem may be the first photo, not the product. With this feature on, before such a product is closed, AI ranks its photos and puts the best one first.
On Ozon, shoppers first see a product as a small thumbnail in search. When a product shows up often but gets few clicks, the problem is often not the product but its first photo: a distant shot, a close-up detail or a frame where the product is small.
How it works
- Every morning swap finds the weakest products. With this feature on, those that appeared in search in the last 14 days but were clicked less than the store average first enter a photo trial.
- AI reads the product's photos on Ozon and ranks them from best to worst. The ranking is always kept on record.
- If the best photo is already first, there is no trial; the product stays in swap's normal order.
- Otherwise the new order is written to the Ozon card and the product is protected from swap for 10 days. If clicks rise, the product stays; if not, swap continues as usual.
- To measure whether it works, half of the products in the trial keep their photos unchanged and wait the same 10 days. The difference between the two groups shows the effect of the photo.
What does it affect?
- Only the photo order: no photo is added or deleted.
- At most 4 products a day enter the trial; at most 20 at the same time.
- If Ozon does not accept the new order, the card returns to its previous state.
